MonksGate was a great winery to visit. It has beautiful views and the owner was the one serving us. We drank very good wine and had great conversation.
Rebecca was a great host. We sat outside under the oak tree and enjoyed their rosé on a warm afternoon. Bought a case.
Hidden Gem, must visit! This family run winery is the kind of place where you drive up, the dog greets you, the dad is working on the farm and the daughter is running everything really well. You feel right at home and just want to hang around. That's how I feel each time I stop in. They've been making wine for years and they do a great job. Definitely worth a visit!
Rebecca is very knowledgeable and quite delightful, the wines are delicious, prices are reasonable, the grounds are peaceful, Fizz is enjoyable and the barn is super cool! Glad we made MonksGate a part of my husband's birthday celebration. Our group unanimously agreed that of the four vineyards we visited, MonksGate is the vineyard we would definitely return to.
As it was pouring down rain when we arrived, the owners greeted us at our car with umbrellas to cover us as we walked the short distance to the tasting room. Now that is personal service! Theirs is a family-run business with a hands-on approach to wine making. As Rebecca poured our tastings, we benefited from her knowledge of the wine making process and the attributes of each wine. We chose to bring home a bottle of 2016 Classic Pinot Noir & 2018 C12 Dry Riesling, each excellent representatives of their style.
